It is said that one can’t leave Surabaya before visiting Mount Bromo. Instead of an icon, Mount Bromo is more like a place to remind visitors about the beauty of Earth, and enjoy the desolate beauty of the surrounding area. Visitors also have the option of exploring the vast area around Mount Bromo’s crater on a pony.
Mount Ijen on another hand is mountain buffs and hikers’ favourite volcano. After a challenging hike up the mountain, you will be rewarded with a magnificent sulfur lake at Mount Ijen’s crater where the pool of turquoise lake is surrounded by crater walls. Here, you will also be able to see sulfur collectors hike up and down the mountain with two basketful of pure sulfur to sell in the city.
Day 1
ARRIVE SURABAYA -MOUNT BROMO (Dinner)
- Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our guide, and proceed to Cemorolawang/Tosari village for check-in.
Day 2
MOUNT BROMO - IJEN CRATER (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
- At 3.30 in the early morning you will wake up and go on the Mount Bromo tour, to witness sunrise from rim of crater.
- You can opt to go by pony riding (at own expense) across the sea of sand and climb up 245 stairs.
- After enjoying the surroundings of Mount Bromo you will go back to hotel for breakfast and repacking.
- Next proceed to Ijen Crater passing the road in the middle of coffee plantation (5 hours drive).
- Then check-in to Hotel/Guest House.
Day 3
IJEN TREKKING - SURABAYA (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
- Early in the morning you will be transferred to Paltuding and start trekking up Mount Ijen. It's about 3 km (light) trekking to the awesome rim crater of Mount Ijen which houses a huge crater lake on top.
- Check out also the human interest point of view of the local people looking for sulphur stones and carrying them down for miles.
- Next, drive back to Surabaya and stay overnight in Surabaya.
Day 4
DEPART SURABAYA (Breakfast)
- Breakfast at hotel, then transfer to airport for departure.
